Jacuzzi Family Vineyards 2010 Barbera, Mendocino County

Remember from last week I promised I would review this wine, well here it is. This Jacuzzi Family Vineyards gem starts with an alcohol by volume of 14.5 % and opens with blackberry, black currant, and blueberry notes on the nose. This was pretty much like putting the same flavored jams on your favorite bread, roll, muffin, or bagel as it was simply a scrumptious aroma.

Blueberry, black cherry, raspberry, and strawberry intermingle on the forward and mid-palates with blueberry and mocha on the back palate. A delectable smooth finish makes this a “must have” wine. One of the benefits of being a wine club member is they send you two bottles of varietals in each shipment (yeah, that means I still have another bottle) which is great especially if you really enjoyed the wine.

Priced at $25 I would have expected this to be higher so my hat’s off to the Jacuzzi Family for keeping this reasonably priced. Coupled with the fact I rated this 9 1/2 wine glasses it is sure to be a staple in my wine cellar. The only problem will be keeping it in stock as this is a delectable wine.

Try this with:

1) chocolate

2) Filet Mignon with a reduction wine sauce

3) Bison, lamb, rabbit or venison

4) a hearty pasta with marinara or arriabiata sauce

5) or stand alone
